ISS 2014 eNews Issue 2 available now
The second issue of eNews for CUHK International Summer School (ISS) 2014 has been sent to admitted students (except CUHK students) via email. It is also available here.
The CUHK International Summer School (ISS) provides you with an exceptional opportunity to combine high-quality learning with an unforgettable summer experience. While attending, students can learn and live alongside other academic achievers from a diverse range of backgrounds and cultures. International students can immerse themselves in a multicultural environment and gain insights into Asian cultures, experience a unique learning environment on the green, spacious campus of CUHK outside regular term time, and enjoy the many pleasures of summer in Hong Kong – Asia’s world city. CUHK and local students can have a taste of cultural exchange with international students without going abroad.
In 2013, 650 students attended the ISS; about 70% of them came from 36 countries/regions around the world, such as Australia, Canada, China, Denmark, France, Mexico, the Netherlands, Singapore, South Korea, Sweden, the U.K., and the U.S. They made the programme truly international.
The ISS spans 5 weeks from end of June. It consists of undergraduate courses in the fields of business, Chinese medicine, engineering, environmental studies, humanities and social science. All courses, except Chinese language courses, are taught in English by outstanding academics from CUHK and prestigious overseas universities. All of these academics are excellent teachers and many of them are research frontrunners in their respective fields of study.
Online application for admission begins from 9 am (Hong Kong time) on 17 February 2014. Full-time undergraduates and high school seniors who have received a confirmed offer from a recognized university are welcome.
